President Trump Welcomes Families of Attacked Military Soldiers to White House

President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the relatives of a Guard member killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Event

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a shooting on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have been held in their memory.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both soldiers of the state Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump told reporters. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Support

Attendees gathered over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both they had been working with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support law enforcement in DC.

Honoring Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that teachers desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a positive energy that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was sweet, compassionate and always ready to help others.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Policy Adjustments

Authorities have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of murder and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy led the government to pause asylum applications and halt issuing visas to owners of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor Patrick Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general the attorney general told a news show that she planned to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a MP with distinction, per the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” Morrisey told the audience at the vigil. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
