The First Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Show Xbox Is Still Fighting.
Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the funeral bells for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a relatively obscure console. Platform-specific outlets have started writing on PS5 topics for the first time. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft still intends to engage players with strong games on its premier subscription.
The Immediate Additions
The two games currently accessible today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, are not the headliners. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
Starting January 13th, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. Another big get is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "an ideal blend of horror and action."
Compelling Indie Titles
However, the more modest titles arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, an unjustly ignored roguelite that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and you should try it even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, the stealth survival game by Rebellion Developments, also warrants your attention. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
All in all, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they are also not massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service alone. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they warranted upon launch — rendering them excellent choices to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to part ways with The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
